Erik Wright code name Ulysses
Erik is a career military man from a military family. Erik lived his life moving from place to place with his family. His father was Sgt. in the marines and he ran his household a lot like his life in the corps. His family was not really close so he had no real attachment leaving them to join the military.
He’s had one true love in his life with Susan Lake. They met in the Marine Corps. Susan was above him as an officer, but they developed a strong attachment. Like many military men, Erik’s service frequently called him away from her and this distance led to the two breaking up. If there was one regret he has in his life it would be the failure of this relationship.
He is somewhat of a loner as he has seen many people he has cared about die. The only true friend he has is Jesse Turner. Jesse is one of the few people alive that he will openly confide in. The two have been in a lot of conflicts, both in the military and out. There is a comfort in their friendship that allows them to have a great understanding of each other even if no one is speaking.
He believes in the military, believes it’s a noble profession. He knows that if it were not for their involvement in the conflicts, the delicate structure of colonization would not exist.
He also feels that sometimes the bureaucracy of the military gets in the way of actually accomplishing missions. He has been in a number of situations that have almost cost him his life following orders. As such he works well within the command structure, but uses his experience and the flexibility within orders to get him through tough circumstances.
He can be cynical. He’s seen it all and isn’t conned easily. He’s the epitome of a squad leader: decisive, driven and taking pride in the mission of the marines. He’s not afraid to die.
He was granted the code name Ulysses for his leadership abilities and his uncanny ability to get out of circumstances. He has been a highly decorated war veteran.

Celso Mayhr aka Wild Bill
Celso was the second son of four brothers; as a child he was always in the shadow of his older brother Peter. He idealized his brother. He noticed that his father was always proud of Peter and as such, to get these accolades he tried as much as possible to follow in his brother’s footsteps.
Because he was not being his own person, he never really measured up to his brother’s accomplishments. He was always coming in a close second and was told if he only tried harder, he would achieve the same successes.
Joining the marines seemed like the right choice because Peter had done it. He had a difficult time making it through training and if it wasn’t for people saying that he was Peter Mayhr’s brother, they wouldn’t have given him passing scores. It was these favors that got Celso into Delta. The truth of the matter is that Celso’s best destiny doesn’t really reside in the marines, but he doesn’t know that.
He is deeply spiritual. He was born Catholic, but has since become a Protestant. His faith and focus to immediately join the marines right after high school left him in a position where he has never had a girlfriend.
On a positive note, what makes Celso a great marine is that he always has something to prove. Being in the shadow of an accomplished brother makes you try more than most. This sometimes helps him achieve amazing results, but it also can make him do things that he probably should never do.
He has an idealized view of the marines and has a positive outlook because he’s in the company of his brother. He’s a young man with a lot to prove and a lot to learn. He has a deep felt sense of right and wrong. He is fun and open with those in his inner circle but socially awkward with newer people he meets.

Peter Mayhr code named Sinbad
Peter was the first son of four. He had a stable conservative up bringing with parents who stayed together. He was a tough kid and fearless. Since he had Celso as a little brother, his protective skills were developed strongly as a child. He would often find himself in skirmishes with kids that were definitely bigger than him and would often win.
In high school, he was in the ROTC and had a great love of the military. He was honored with distinction and he felt that this was something that he could continue in the marines.
He joined the military after high school and in basic training was assigned the sole position of brigade commander. His superiors marked him down early as a young man on the rise, a soldier destined for command. Everything has come easy to Peter. Women love him, missions were easy and he has a confidence that is second to none.
However, Peter’s idea of the military was soon becoming disillusioned. Despite his effectiveness in all things, he had people assigned over him that he considered idiots. People who would make mistakes and people who out of jealousy would try to purposely keep him down. This turned his idealistic view of the military into resentment. Because he did not respect some of the people in command, he really stopped trying. He deliberately showed up late, got drunk, took his duties less serious. These direct acts of rebellion have put him on work details that are definitely beneath him. It has turned others perception of him to somewhat of a trouble-maker.
When his brother Celso was assigned to Delta, he put aside some of his rebellion to show his brother the ropes. He is very protective of his little brother, but does not share his brother’s idealism of the marines.
He is a developing atheist. Having been raised a Catholic; the things he has witnessed in the military have made him question whether there is a God. As he likes to say “If there is a God what good is he to me?”
Peter likes to think he’s right in most situations. He doesn’t have a lot of book smarts to support it. In combat situations he is fearless.

Daniel Sky code name Samson
Daniel was raised an only child in a very rich family. He was pampered his whole life and his family used their wealth and influence to advance Daniel where they could. On his part, Daniel was everything you would want in a son, focused, talented and smart.
His parents wanted him to join the military to have a background of serving for a future career in politics when he was older. His family however, did not expect for him to be in the elite forces. His personal drive to be the best made him join this dangerous force. As such, his parents from time to time try to have him leave this division of the marines.
He has always been an ambitious climber, but lacks any real empathy. He respects authority only to the extent that, if doing so, it helps in furthering his personal goals. He genuinely believes he is the smartest person in the room. He will be the first to interject his point of view and if for some reason it’s not heeded he will go above the heads of others to get his will done.
Daniel started dating Jayden a year ago and he was responsible for getting her to be a part of Delta. His affections to her border on abusive. He actively does things that drive her away but when she withdraws he pursues her greatly.
His upward mobility put him in charge of Delta in less than two years. Since Erik has taken over, this does not sit well with him. This serves as an embarrassment to him and he will work diligently to try to regain command.
In the field, he is amazingly effective. He seeks to be the focus point in missions with a goal of drawing attention to himself and his record. He can be a little aloof with others and come off as arrogant.

Jayden Hamill code name Hua Mulan
Jayden was born on Freedom Station 25 years ago and has lived her whole life here. Her mother and father are part of the maintenance crew helping to keep Freedom functioning properly. As such, Jayden grew up to know everything about the station. As a curious child, she explored the ship from stem to stern. There are few people who know the station better than her. She has a great relationship with her family and is well liked by most people on the crew.
Since her whole life was being part of this military family, being a member of the marines only made sense. She had a great awe growing up seeing these real life heroes she read about and wanted to be part of the elite group.
Like Celso, she is relatively new to Delta; as such, she holds the group in high regard. While in basic training she met and fell in with Daniel. It was because Daniel pulled strings that Jayden was able to become part of the group. As a soldier, Jayden needs some work. She has had no time in actual combat duty, so how she handles actual battles is yet to be determined.
Daniel and Jayden have been dating for a year and are really like oil and vinegar. Everyone around them knows that this relationship is destined to fail but Jayden gets fiercely defensive of her relationship if any comment is spoken.
She is an upbeat personality; she’s smart and a bit sarcastic. She has a strong desire to succeed. Although she was assisted to get into MARSOC, she is determined to do well.

Katsuro Nara code name: Musashi
Katsuro’s father is a soldier of fortune and came in and out of his life all of the time. He idealized his father and wanted to be like him. He was trained in combat, weapons and martial arts as a child. By the time he was in his teens he was a deadly young man. His father taught him everything he ever learned about military tactics and combat. Their visits were not only physically challenging but mentally difficult as well.
Katsuro’s father was not an affectionate man, and constantly drove Katsuro to try harder. He was never pleased with his son. Even when he was in school and delivered great grades, this still never met his father’s measure.
His father wanted him to join him as a soldier of fortune and in what was a strong act of defiance; he told his father that he would rather join the Marine Corps. This did not sit well with his dad.
As he furthered his training in the marines, he disagreed with his father being a soldier of fortune; so many of his father’s choices were motivated solely for money.
Once he got in MARSOC, this made him be a convert completely to the ideals of the Marine Corps. Katsuro came across his father on a mission learning the brutality of the work his father was involved in and they became estranged. Katsiro feels that it’s his job to restore what he feels is fallen honor on the part of his family. He is one of the few “Heroes” who embraces “The Dragon” moniker and he constantly seeks to be the best soldier he can be. He genuinely wants to help people. He is a good friend and is usually the mediator between interpersonal conflicts.

Sarah Maillet code name Robin Hood
Sarah was born into a large family. Her family life was ideal. Everything you would expect from a perfect family. Sarah loved her dad immensely; he seemed to be the only person in the world who truly understood her. She was a good student, a natural athlete and good daughter. Sarah was 16 when her father passed away; this event changed her life.
This put her on a self-destructive path. She ran fast and hard; drowning her sorrow with drugs, alcohol and men. Her life style put her in harms way with tough individuals. However, she was tougher. She was never one to walk away from a fight and physically she was more than capable in holding her own.
After a number of years that were a blur, it was her brother Steve who recommended she take a change of direction in her life when he joined the military. She knew she had to change. Her life would lead to her own death if she didn’t.
In the marines she cleaned up, had a renewed sense of self and she owed it all to her little brother. She replaced the grief she had for her father with a strong relationship with her brother. Our series starts right after her brother Steve was just killed. The darker side of Sarah will begin to emerge again.
Sarah thinks with her feelings. She wears her heart on her sleeve with a great deal of cynicism. A rule-breaker by nature and a hell-raiser by preference, she nevertheless not only respects, but reveres the traditions and customs of the military service.
She is willfully defiant, but also has a great loyalty to her fellow soldiers. She wants to show that she, unlike Erik is not someone who would get her fellow soldiers injured. As such, she will always be willing to inject herself into dangerous situations and usually comes up with a victory in hand.
She is proud of her uniform, proud of her place in the long tradition of soldiers who’ve gone before, and is politically conservative to the point of being almost reactionary. She’s loyal to a fault and fiercely protective of family and friends. If you are in a battle, Sarah is the one you want next to you.

Shadow Behrns code name Lancelot
Shadow is the stray cat of the marines. The marines took him from the arms of his mother when he was a baby when they found her dead after a mission raid. The marines that found him, kept him with them and he became their little project.
He was raised by Major Andrew Behrns and the life in the Marine Corps was all he ever knew. He enjoyed being a part of the military and learned tactics and strategies. He was a good student, but was a bit stupid when it came to the ladies.
When he met Bernadette in the academy, he fell head over heels and despite his father’s warning of using birth control, Bernadette got pregnant. Shadow had to grow up faster than he expected. He withdrew from the military academy and joined the marines to be able to support his young family and sought to be a part of Elite Forces to inspire his family.
It was shortly after his basic training that he found his young bride having an affair leading to a divorce.
Being a bit of a ladies’ man, it wasn’t long before Shadow found himself in the arms of a new girl, Christine who he married and had two children. Shadow personally has to balance a continued relationship with his ex-wife and daughter, his new wife and two children and his service to the corps.
The military and the being a family man is a tough balance to maintain and Shadow is stretched thin frequently.
Shadow is a pretty chill guy. He’s funny and smart, but he knows where his life really is and that is with his family. When the time is right he wants to move from MARSOC to a safer career within the military.
He loves music and will frequently play something on the guitar.
He still has a close relationship with his adopted dad and tries to live his life in a way that would make him proud.
